LIFEMATHICS: THANKFUL!

I have a lot to be thankful for and I don’t know about you. The year 2012 is coming to an end and I have sat back to think of how this year has been. I’ve received so many broadcasts on my smart phone telling me I should be thankful for several reasons. The truth is, even without all those, I would still have sat down to review the year. I have a wonderful family, great parents and siblings, and God deemed it fit to keep them for me so I’m thankful for that. I mean, any of them could have passed on in the course of the year but God kept them. I’ve got great friends and yes I may have mourned one of them this year Femi “Ribadu” Ademiju but I’m still thankful, firstly because he lived a life of impact and I’m sure of where he’s gone and secondly for the remaining friends I have alive.
You know one of the greatest things to have in life is people that really care about you and to be sincere, I’ve got them in abundance and for that reason, I’m thankful.
I’m thankful for the love I share with that special “him” that puts a smile on my face every single time he gets the opportunity. Good things may not last forever but I’m thankful for the beautiful moments filled with love and laughter, and tickles and hugs and icecreams and walks… I AM thankful!
I’m thankful for all the wonderful opportunities I had this year that put me in the spotlight. You may not understand, but this year, everywhere I found myself, I somehow always ended up being in the spotlight at some point. Why is that a big deal? Because it increased my sphere of influence and made it possible for me to connect with more people.
I’m thankful for all the trips I made this year; within the country, outside the country, by air , by road, considering that there were a few plane crashes and several auto crashes this year and none of them affected me? I AM thankful!
I’m thankful for numerous successes I recorded in this year, in my academics, in other areas that I delved into… Its funny how oftentime we take little things for granted because we don’t think they are such a big deal, hmmmn. Be thankful. Be thankful for what you have before it becomes what you had.
And if the year has been rough? That’s ok, still be thankful because you have life. It’s not as though I did not have tough times during the year. I lost a friend, suffered depression at some point when everything around me was going wrong, went through a most difficult and terrible heartbreak, suffered a breakdown in my health… But I’m still thankful. If it weren’t for the Lord who had been on my side?
You might not understand, but there were several battles the Lord fought and won on your behalf so be thankful! I saw a raw manifestation of God this year and I’m thankful.
The year is fast coming to an end, if you don’t think you have anything to be thankful for, maybe you’re still seeking a job, a life partner? Be thankful for life. Hey! The world was supposed to end on the 21st of December this year (lol) but it didn’t end! Be thankful!

Sincerely, its been a great year and if you are not where you want to be, be thankful because you’re no longer where you used to be.
So put a huge smile on your face today, you’ll make someone’s day and then you can be thankful that you did.
